We don’t get these in our garden, but I recall the first time I experienced an Emu roaming free, it’s sound took me completely by surprise…

The first one made me smile, a lot but I really like the last one the most. The image you have created in my mind with that emu is very…vivid!

Delightful ! Thank you for sharing what for me is unique and only seen in photos.
Amazing sights I would imagine.. Kookaburra reminds me of a song from childhood as I write this…and I think they would be interesting to have nearby and make everyone smile.
My favorite haiku is the Black Cockatoos… a visual creation that is memorable.

thnx so much for the audio/visual treat……those black cockatoos are showy! and as a kid I remember this ‘song’ – “kookaburra sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the bush is he; laugh kookaburra, laugh kookaburra, save some gum for me!”

Yes, we sang that song at Primary School growing up in the UK too. I believe that’s what makes them so special to me. 🙂
