Today’s Carpe Diem‘s Tan Renga Challenge is Maggie’s ”shedding summer skin”. The challenge to add two 7 syllable lines to Maggie/Grace’s haiku…

I was once again reminded of a haiku I’d written for the prompt Willow previously and Summer days as a child playing under the local willow tree.


shedding summer skin
willow floats downstream
reflecting season’s end

the princess and the dragon
await a summer knight’s play

Smiles, love and laughter
