Our Carpe Diem Haiku prompt for today is Shoobu (Japanese Iris)

Today I’ve my Haiku come from thoughts arising from the image below…

japanese princess
straining to fly free from the
green samurai’s sword

~ | ~

iris pink and purple
colours of the rainbow, in
rose coloured glasses

~ | ~

a field of iris
like nuns in coloured cornetts
giving praise en masse

I leave you with an image of swaying nuns in a hill top field and the suggestion that ‘the hills are alive, with the sound of music‘ 😉
