Haiku Carpe Diem #202, The Tower (XVI)

Our next Carpe Diem Tarot card Haiku prompt is The Tower (XVI)

There are some who might say we haven’t learned much about towers since Babylon. Then again, there are others who are very thankful for man’s towers crowned in gold…

Babylon’ phalus
man’s ego butts against god’s
seems we didn’t learn

liberty looks on
yet more towers are crumbling
in the name of god

sailors say prayers
to whoever will listen
for flashy towers

Keep heading towards your beacon on the hill, where ever the journey may take you my friends.

Smiles, love and laughter

  1. WabiSabi says:

All of your towers are burning! I agree, we haven’t learned much! 🙂

  2. Maggie Grace says:

Your second haiku and image are so chilling. Ancient history coming around again to haunt us. All three well done as usual.

  3. What a wonderful series of haiku JRB. The way how you have used The Tower is very surprisingly and that third haiku is a masterpiece.
