Haiku Carpe Diem #186, The Magician (Tarot)

The Magician is the next tarot card in this Carpe Diem Haiku journey.

The second card in this series on the tarot pack is the Magician. The iconography of this card evolved from the french Monteblanc, or sleight of hand artists, into the Magus crowned with infinity and holding court between the heavens and earth…

The Magician

earth, air, fire, water
adorn magician’s table
elements of truth

elements of truth
infinite varieties
magician conjures

magician conjures
dark secrets and breathless hopes
from the slightest tell

from the slightest tell
infinity decomposed
earth, air, fire, water

I hope you’ve enjoyed my cascading haiku flowing from the Magician. If you have a friend who enjoys magicians too, don’t keep it to yourself, grab a pen and tell her!

Smiles, love and laughter

  1. Excellent! Magician is one of my favorite cards!

  2. Great cascade JRB … The Magician is also one of my favorites. Thank you my friend for sharing.

Groaning from pen and tell her. Amazing cascade and the added repeat of first and last lines. Jung’s wheel is akin to the mandala which I have as the inside of a nautilus shell and several dream catchers hung so there are circles within circles. Very spiritual and soothing to the mind. Thank you for that new lesson.

Sorry to make you groan, but I couldn’t resist it.
I’ve been using DISC profiling since ’98 and so Jung’s wheel is known to me through that.

  4. Nice…prefer the haiku that stand alone..at the risk of losing our friendship! That is not to take away the quality of each haiku in its own right..!

Thanks Pirate, I’m always happy to get your thoughts. I’m not sure why the last two cards have drawn out a cascade. We’ll see what the next few bring 🙂

  5. must be a round table of earth, wind, and fire
    the sleight hand doest tell…

  6. I am so enjoying learning about this deck of intriguing cards thru the words of others….thanx for sharing this wonderful cascade…

Thank you Joanne, it is an interesting learning journey isn’t it. I hope we can all make it through to the end and look back on a shared learning experience.
