Haike Carpe Diem #143, Zansetsu (remaining snow)

The Carpe Diem Haiku prompt today is Zansetsu (remaining snow).

Writing about snow on a 28c late summer’s day is never easy, but I hope that my remaining snow uncovers something to your liking…

Oh, you’ve just had way too much fun with this prompt! 🙂

  2. Maybe there are times when truth shouldn’t be uncovered? Maybe?

    Last Traces of Snow

oh too bad, the snowmen look so cute.lol really fun haiku

  5. Delightful John
and to be inspired when it is warm in your world
    Spring on tap my favorite

  6. Lovely! and because of the last pic I have to ask: are you a Doctor Who Fand?

  7. WabiSabi says:

I agree it is hard to write haiku on a season word that is clearly NOT outside your window! You did well in spite of the heat! The last one is reminiscent of Calvin and Hobbes, a cartoon you would probably love, if you aren’t familiar with it already! There is snowman genocide, homicide and more! all from the mind of a five year old boy!

  8. jrbsays says:

Calvin & Hobbes – I know of the cartoon from my days in the UK, but haven’t read it since. I must look it up again on your recommendation.

  9. Pingback: Haiku Carpe Diem #144, Yuki no hate (end of snow) | JRB's Haiku

  10. aloha JRB – i particularly like the idea in the first ku that beneath the remaining snow there is the revelation of a truth. aloha.

  11. Ah the first ane reminds me of a saying in swdish…
det som göms i snö – kommer fram i tö

    what you hide in snow
    is revealed in thaw

Then that snowman genocide was both funny and tragic

  12. That first photo is amazing. Your match was perfect.
