Haiku Carpe Diem Special #18, Shiki’s ‘The Peacock’

Today’s Carpe Diem Prompt is a haiku by the master Shiki:

harukaze ni o wo hirogetaru kujaku kana

the peacock
spreading out his tail
in the Spring breeze

I pondered the scene around this Peacock’s display and saw an age old tail playing out…
