Haiku Carpe Diem #77, Icicles (tsurara)

Picture of water dropping from icicles – Sunny day in Northern NorwayImage Credits

Today’s Carpe Diem Haiku prompt was Icicles (tsurara). Once again I selected an image that called to me from Google’s screen and patiently listened to what it had to say to me…

Twigs of Tundra
Drape from frozen canopy
The Willow weeps

~ | ~

Time frozen in space
History’s secrets kept safe
‘Till seconds drip bye

~ | ~

Icicle stays silent
Ancient toasts to kings and queens
Held in frozen heart

~ | ~

Happy Springtime songs
Dance for the joy of living
Icicle elopes

  1. Beautiful series on ‘icicles’. I love the 3rd the most … ‘icicles’ crystals for the rich and poor. Mother Nature shares it with everyone. Even a poor man (or woman) feels rich for a little time. Thank you jrb for sharing these treasures with Carpe Diem.

  2. I am trying to imagine an eloping icicle!
