Haiku Pouring of Petals

Reading through the Carpe Diem haikus for Early Plum Blossoms this morning I came across this wonderful post by Tea with a Pirate:

new kind of blizzard
when snow has melted and gone
-early plum blossoms

I went to write a response and the following  came from my fingers, I guess it follows on from his ‘new kind of blizzard

Pouring of petals
Cast pink where grass was greener
The fruit of your limbs

Not my Carpe Diem entry for today, but I wanted to share it anyway.

Thanks for sharing…I like it a lot. I like also the idea that haiku friends are spawning new ideas in the thoughts of other haiku poets.
That didn’t make sense, but I take the elderly prerogative and let YOU take the words and figure them out !
Hope you are in a snow free zone

      Thank you.
It was interesting, I didn’t plan to write a haiku as a reply to Tea with a Pirate’s Carpe Diem entry, it just came out as I typed.
It makes me think that might be a nice ‘game’ to play, each contributor adding a haiku to the previous one to form a cascading haiku. Mmmmm
